Week 10
by rchackman
The week was going well and then I decided to actually get social….In a rare move, I went out for a change on both friday and saturday. I paid for it on Sunday. Maybe some people can train a lot and go out but I find it hard to do both over the weekend. I would much prefer an early dinner with some friends as opposed to staying out late at the bar.
Tue July 10 – (AM)1:50:00 Bike, (PM) 50:00 Swim
Wed – (PM) 50:00 Run
Thu – (AM) 1:30:00 Bike, (PM) 50:00 Run
Fri – (PM) 1:10:00 Bike
Sat – 1:05:00 Swim, 3:00:00 Brick (50 min run)
Sunday – day off
Workouts —- 2 swim, 3 bike, 2 run, 1 brick
Total Time — 11:05:00
I am the opposite – when I’m in training for something I find that I absolutely need to keep a balance with my social life and training (which doesn’t necessarily mean railroading shots or shutting down bars, I can barely do that even when I don’t have to workout intense amounts the morning after). If I feel like I’m missing out on things with my friends because “I have to train,” I start to resent the training, which leads to slacking. It’s the Marissa Mayer approach to work, applied to workouts – find that thing that keeps you balanced, whether it’s your social life or a certain TV show or a vacation or whatever, make it a priority, and you won’t have an issue pouring yourself into the hard work.
I know what you mean. I just hate staying out late and people don’t seem to start partying until WAY TOO LATE
!! I am pretty good about doing a little something social but early on in the evenings. Especially when weekend training loads get up to such high volume.
I am with you. Dinner and a Star Trek rerun, early to bed. Frankly, that helps with the early to rise part. It’s miserable hot here by 10am.!
